Cioppino
Yes, Cioppino sounds like it should be the name of a racehorse, but it is in fact a scrumptious seafood stew that is ideal for Valentine's Day, and we have a cioppino kit that is so easy to prepare that you may not even want to take credit for preparing it, but do anyway. It's available to order online through tomorrow, 2/13.
The ingredients in the broth are several — tomato, onion, celery, bell pepper, fennel, leek, garlic, bay leaf, oregano, thyme, cayenne, vegetable stock — but we've done the gathering and the chopping and the simmering so that the broth is ready for prime time.
The ingredients you'll need to deal with are minimal: the broth, the clams, the shrimp, the mussels. This image illustrates the process:
The above images are from a video that features Chef Jamey Fader showing the world when to add each ingredient. Along with eating, timing is your biggest concern when it comes to cioppino, and it's hardly a concern at all. This future-Pulitzer-Prize-winning video (in the "Best Cioppino Documentary" category) will tell you everything you need to know to prepare this beautifully uncomplicated yet hugely flavorful meal.
Our Cioppino Meal for 2 Kit includes:
